Marketing for service businesses

Get more out of your marketing without having to hold it all in your head.

The problem is rarely the marketing

Most service businesses we meet are doing four or five sensible things. A website somebody built, ads somebody set up, a listing somebody claimed, posts somebody writes when there is time. None of it is wrong. None of it is joined up, and nobody can say which of the five brought last month's customers.

What we do first

Find out where the enquiries come from

Before changing anything. It is common to find that one channel is producing most of the work and getting the least attention, and that another has been quietly funded for a year on the strength of a feeling.

Fix the point where people give up

For service businesses it is almost always one of three: a phone number nobody answers during the day, a form that asks eleven questions, or a price question the site refuses to go near. These are cheaper to fix than any campaign is to run.

Then, and only then, more demand

Sending more people at a funnel that leaks is how a marketing budget disappears without an obvious reason. We would rather spend the first month on the leak.

What you get

One plan that hangs together, measured on enquiries rather than activity, and a monthly conversation short enough that you will actually have it.
